Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized for her high-quality performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her film Piano earned her an Oscar. Actresses have an extensive career of involvement in Broadway as well as Off-Broadway productions. Acting has always been her obsession. In fifth grade, she portrayed Helen Keller in an original production. As a result of having mumps, she went deaf in one of the sides of her ears. But, it did not stop her ambition to become an actor. She studied drama at college, and then moved between Pittsburgh and moved to New York City to follow her dreams. Through a random encounter, she was stuck in an elevator alongside writer Beth Henley and the two joined forces to create the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart that became Hunter's debut. As she relocated into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to find movie roles. The role of a supporting actress was secured for her in Swing Shift. In the three decades since her time in Los Angeles, Holly Hunter has been in many films, TV shows and movies. Holly Hunter won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and also an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
